Fayelah Johnson
Fayelah graduated from the University of California, Irvine with her B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior, where she also facilitated a course for incoming first-year students on how to successfully navigate their transition to college- advising them on everything from course selection to how to be a leader on campus. Before joining Collegewise, Fayelah developed and coordinated college-access programs at community-based organizations in Orange County, CA. With six years of student services and college counseling experience, Fayelah has provided individualized guidance on the college exploration, application, and decision-making process to over 200 students, who went on to thrive in colleges and universities across the country.
With a holistic approach to counseling, Fayelah understands the importance of getting to know her students and families as people, first. She aims to make students feel empowered and confident, regardless of where they are in their college admissions journey by challenging them to stand in their vulnerability, embrace their strengths, address areas they can improve, and learn more about themselves while doing it!
When she is not supporting students, you can find Fayelah painting, re-designing her island on Nintendo’s Animal Crossing, or binge-watching reality TV with her kitten.
