Joel is a former Assistant Director of Admissions at UCLA. As an expert admissions counselor, his students have been accepted to more than 125 colleges and universities, including Stanford, Georgetown, University of Chicago, Washington University in St. Louis, USC, Colorado School of Mines, Texas A&M, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, Purdue University, Pitzer, Northeastern, University of Miami, The New School, and all of the UC (University of California) schools.  

 Dr. Carlos Gooden has logged successful admissions stints, both undergraduate and graduate, for nine different schools including University of Chicago, University of Southern California, UC San Diego, University of New Orleans, and Xavier University. After completing his master’s in higher education, Carlos earned a doctorate in educational administration, a topic on which he is currently publishing a peer-reviewed book. 

During her tenure at Collegewise, Fayelah's students have been accepted to over 100 colleges, including the nation's most selective schools like UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC San Diego, Stanford, MIT, and Duke, Scripps, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Wellesley, University of Michigan, Northwestern, University of Southern California, University of Chicago, and NYU. As a first-generation college graduate herself, Fayelah brings a deeply personal understanding to her counseling work. 

Since earning degrees in comparative literature and bioengineering from Stanford University, where he was nominated for the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships, Matthew has spent his entire career working with students, including stints teaching writing courses at UC Berkeley and English at Don Bosco Cristo Bay High School. Before joining Collegewise, Matthew was a sought-after independent college counselor whose students were accepted to a variety of selective colleges, including Johns Hopkins, Cornell, University of Chicago, Carnegie Mellon, Rice, University of Michigan, NYU, University of Virginia, Georgetown, UT–Austin, and George Washington University.  

Dr. Charles Lu’s career has centered on expanding access, equity, and success in higher education. With more than a decade of leadership experience at institutions including Johns Hopkins University, the UC San Diego, and the University of Texas at Austin, Charles has developed and led nationally recognized student success programs, reviewed thousands of college applications, and mentored students from all walks of life as they’ve launched their higher education journeys.
