We’ve been here before. Not in the-middle-of-a-global-pandemic before, but we have worked with families through uncertain times with exceptional results. We believe in focusing on what you can control, and our work has always centered on you: the student.

We've partnered with our friends at NVIDIA to offer you discounted rates on academic tutoring and small group learning options.

FAQs

Can you help me fill or find my pod?
We find that pods work best when the students know each other and ideally are from the same school. Our team is able to better tailor your time together when they are working with students who are being taught with the same curriculum. We are able to better focus on the specific needs of the students when we aren’t juggling curriculums from across the country. Because of that, we ask that families come to us with their pod members.

How long are the sessions and why?
Sessions are one hour in length. We’ve found that’s an ample amount of time to make sure we can cover the material, discuss any questions that arise before online fatigue sets in.

What curriculum will you follow?
Our tutors will follow your school’s curriculum once you provide it. We have tutors who are able to teach at all levels of instruction and are able to adapt their teaching style based on the school curriculum your family provides.

What are your instructor qualifications?
Becoming a Collegewise tutor is more selective than getting into Harvard. Yes, you read that right. We thoroughly vet all of our tutors and have an acceptance rate of roughly 2 percent. Our tutors love the subjects they teach, and each of them bring their own, unique style to Wiser Pods. You can read more about our tutors here

Will we have a consistent teacher for the duration of the pod?
Yes, your tutor will remain with you for the duration of the pod.

What is the time commitment?
This is completely up to the student or pod and their needs. You are able to purchase individual tutoring hour in 1, 10, and 20-hour increments, and pod hours in 5, 10 and 20-hour increments. Once purchased, pods will work with someone on our team to decide how frequently the pod would like to meet and for how many weeks. For individual tutoring, students will work with their tutor to determine their meeting schedule and frequency.

What are people saying about Collegewise?

Collegewise, for me, was much more than test-prep and college counseling. After freshman year, [my college counselor and tutor] inspired me to be a more engaged member of my community, and for all that I thank you. I truly believe, without a doubt in my mind, that Collegewise played an integral role in getting me to where I am today. I hope that Collegewise continues to inspire students as it did me. Thank you so much!

One of my daughters says that she has never had a better math teacher in her life, and my other daughter comes out of Skype tutoring sessions for her least favorite subject saying, “That was so much fun!” Thank you for all of the support for our whole family.

Collegewise was perfect for the help I needed with my applications! My essays were always sent back to me within a timely manner, and I never felt like I was forgotten about. I also loved that I was encouraged to never submit an essay that I was not proud of or happy with. I had a great college application process.
