Answering the Biggest College Admission Questions: Academics, Internships, STEM, and More
Join us on Monday, April 22 at 5:00 PM PDT to hear how parents can be the support system their teen needs during the college application process.
About this Event
Applying to college is one of the biggest decisions in a teenager’s life — and it can also be one of the most nerve-wracking.
During this seminar we’ll explore the mechanics of a great college application; the impactful activities students can pursue, including internships and research opportunities; and the many pathways for students interested in a STEM major.
You’ll leave knowing why, how, and when, to prepare for and apply to great colleges, no matter where you’re starting from.
Your Speakers
Ian Parker
Collegewise Admissions Counselor
Throughout his career as an educator and tutor, Ian has found that there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to college. As a Master Tutor at The Princeton Review and instructor with the Fullerton and Long Beach school districts, he has discussed with families the value of conducting comprehensive analysis and collecting data to assess each student’s needs, goals, and interests when making academic decisions.
While this sounds very thorough (it makes sense to note here that his major was in economics, his minor in philosophy), Ian possesses just the right balance of genuine drive to emotionally support students and families while helping them come to logical decisions regarding their best-fit school. When he’s not working with students, Ian keeps up with the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, hikes with his dog, and can offer astute opinions on what makes a good Philly cheesesteak.
