You could write a great stanza—or two—about Matt's tutoring experience. His Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton included a dissertation covering a global study of oral poetry and music in ancient and traditional cultures, and his translation of the Latin epic poem, "Lucan’s Civil War," is published in the Penguin Classics. In addition to having his B.A. in Classics from the University of Oregon, Matt taught for twelve years at St. Peter’s College, Deep Springs College, Rutgers, and Whitman College. When he’s not tutoring, he writes poetry and fiction (of course), plays guitar, and daydreams about space travel. He enjoys helping students set goals, challenge and overcome their anxieties, and achieve their aims through discipline and hard work.
