If you're a new college student who feels lonely, you're in good company. Cornell first year Emery Bergmann shares her experience as a self-described "friendship-hungry gremlin" in a video she filmed for one of her classes:

The good news? If you're feeling lonely in college, you're not alone. There are plenty of college students who feel the same way, and the best way to make friends is to follow that advice you've heard thousands of times: leave your dorm. Join clubs. Talk to people in your classes (yes, when you feel like you're going to fall asleep after that 8 a.m. lecture). As Emery says, it just takes time.
